Jaipur, India - August 20, 2026: Dev Technosys has not yet received Cyber Essentials certification. The company makes this information clear to all the stakeholders of the organization, including potential contractors and clients in the UK.

Cyber Essentials is a certification scheme supported by the Government of the UK and created together with the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC). This certification helps organizations protect themselves from various threats on the Internet by providing basic cyber security controls. According to NCSC, Cyber Essentials qualifies as the minimum standard certificate that the Government of the UK recommends to all organizations’ representatives.

For businesses that are planning to use the services of a company that develops software in the UK, Cyber Essentials certification may be of utmost importance during the process of choosing a supplier. The company must meet the requirements regarding networks, devices, software, users, and other elements of cybersecurity. Whether a Cyber Essentials certificate is necessary or not depends on the policies, obligations, and nature of services provided by the organization.

The Five Cyber Essentials Controls

The five technical domains that the Cyber Essentials requirements currently have are the following:

1. Firewalls are security techniques that help to establish the security perimeter between trusted systems and the outside world.

2. Secure Configuration implies secure configuration of computers, devices, and systems to minimize the possibilities of unauthorized access.

3. Security Update Management encompasses the process of implementing security updates to minimize the risk of exploitation of software vulnerabilities.

4. User Access Control refers to the regulation of who will have access to systems, services, and information about an organization.

5. Malware Protection entails implementing measures for protection against malware that can jeopardize an organization’s systems.

Cyber Essentials requirements are being revised by the NCSC regularly. Current IT Infrastructure Requirements v3.3 has been in force since April 27, 2026, and consists of updated recommendations about such fields of activity as cloud services, passwordless authentication, and software development.

Cyber Essentials and UK Government Contracts

Cyber Essentials is not a mandatory requirement for each UK government contract or each supplies. Nonetheless, the NCSC indicates that the number of businesses that ask their suppliers for Cyber Essentials accreditation is climbing, and its guidance on the supply chain recommends organizations include Cyber Essentials in their minimum security criteria for suppliers. The requirements of an individual procurement process must therefore be checked against the contract or tender.

In circumstances where an organization is considering working with Dev Technosys, the absence of Cyber Essentials accreditation should form part of the overall assessment of the vendor and not be viewed as the proof of a specific flaw in terms of security. Security requirements may be expressed and contractually agreed upon by clients during the procurement process.

Cyber Essentials is different from Cyber Essentials Plus as it means that a higher level of assurance is achieved because of the technological verification by a third party. The accreditation and assessment procedure should be verified through the official Cyber Essentials program.
